Alice and her partner had always planned to have a summer wedding, as this is the perfect weather for enjoying a rustic wedding. The couple had planned for their reception to take place at a converted barn which had been beautifully decorated for their event. For the catering, our manager Rik had been hired to serve our wonderful alfresco menu, which is a perfect fit for this occasion! Alongside the catering, the guests would also get to enjoy live music during the meal, followed by an evening on the dancefloor!
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Cockington team arrived at the venue with plenty of time to prepare for the 2:00pm mealtime. We began by serving the starters, which are wonderful sharing platters for the guests to enjoy at their tables. The platters consisted of sliced meats and cheeses, alongside fresh salad and bread. This is an excellent way to begin the alfresco menu and is always an incredibly memorable course.
Following the starters, the guests enjoyed a classic Hog Roast Cockington main course, including delicious, sliced pork, sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, crispy crackling, baby potatoes, and homemade gravy. This is a hearty and delicious meal, with plenty for everyone to enjoy.
The menu ended with a dessert course, with guests choosing between profiteroles and summer pudding. Both dishes were presented beautifully and were a great compliment to the wedding cake provided by the couple.
