Hog Roast Exeter ‘Wows’ Guests At Exeter Wedding Extravaganza!

Hog Roast ExeterWedding season is creeping up again, and if our inbox is anything to go by, it’s going to be a busy one. Over the past few months, Hog Roast Exeter has been chatting with loads of excited couples over email, phone and social media. We love those conversations – hearing about venues, colour schemes, guest lists – but as convenient as virtual communication is, we also know that sometimes you just want to meet the people you might be trusting with your wedding feast in person.

That’s why we never pass up the chance to attend a wedding fair.

So when the Exeter Westpoint Wedding Extravaganza rolled into town on 22nd February, we were already packing the van and raring to go. With more than 120 stands and thousands of visitors expected at Westpoint Arena, we knew it would be a BIG one. Free goody bags? Complimentary bubbly? A fashion show and even a VIP lounge? There was plenty to keep everyone busy. So, if we were going to stand out, we had to do what we do best.

And yes – that meant rustling up a hog roast.

At some wedding fairs, you’re limited to brochures and polite smiles. This time, Hog Roast Exeter was able to get cooking properly and before long, the smell alone was doing half the work for us. People followed their noses straight to our stand, and once we started handing out samples, the ice was well and truly broken.

Hog Roast ExeterThere’s something about that first bite – crisp crackling giving way to juicy, slow-roasted pork – that gets people talking. Couples who’d been unsure about catering suddenly lit up. Those that hadn’t considered a hog roast before were quickly converted.

Our catering manager, Rik, was in his element. Fielding questions, chatting through menu options, explaining how we tailor everything to suit the couple – he even secured a few bookings on the spot. Not bad for a day’s work.

By the time we packed down, our feet were aching and our voices were a little hoarse, but it was completely worth it. Meeting so many lovely couples face-to-face and becoming part of their wedding plans? That’s the good stuff.

If you stopped by Hog Roast Exeter’s stall for a sample and a chat, it was brilliant to meet you. And if you didn’t get a chance to ask everything you wanted – we’re only a call or email away.
