Famed for our sandy beaches and glistening blue waters, Torbay is the prime location for ocean-loving couples to tie the knot. And in our many years of experience as the boroughs best-loved catering service, Hog Roast Maidencombe has had the utmost pleasure of being included in numerous celebrations with a coastal theme. So many in fact, that you would probably think we’d be sick of them by now, but that couldn’t be further from the truth!
The truth is, there’s nothing we love more than helping people celebrate their love for one another, and no matter how many of these events we are asked to cater for, we just can’t get enough. Plus, like people, no two events are ever the same, meaning it always feels like a new and thrilling experience for our catering crew. So, when Jack and Poppy asked if our Hog Roast Maidencombe team was free to serve one of our delightful menus at their wedding reception, we were overjoyed.
After a three year engagement caused by several date changes due to covid lockdowns, the happy couple finally got to experience their magical day on Saturday, and it was a great privilege for Hog Roast Maidencombe to share the occasion with them. Our catering manager, Rik, handled everything with the utmost professionalism, and his attention to detail meant no stone was left unturned, which resulted in a phenomenal meal that the guests were in awe over.
Our team had spent all morning working on the formal feast for the couple’s big day, which provided a drinks service with canapés (served to guests as they arrived by our waiting staff), followed by the choice of a traditional hog roast with all the frills or a meatless option of BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls and vegan coleslaw. Adding more depth to the main, our team also served freshly tossed salads, gourmet coleslaw and dauphinoise potatoes; and for dessert, guests were able to choose between sticky toffee pudding or tarte au citron with fresh cream.
Having Hog Roast Maidencombe on hand to cover the catering made sure that Jack and Poppy’s wedding was plain sailing (pardon the pun!) from start to finish, and the pair couldn’t have been more pleased with the results.
