When people first hear the name Hog Roast Saint Erth, they usually think they’ve got us figured out. Hog roasts, obviously, it’s right there in the name. And sure, that’s still our crown jewel, the thing we’re most proud of, but there’s genuinely more to us than that, as Cate and Tom found out for themselves.
Before they discovered us, it’s fair to say Cate and Tom were stressed with a capital S. Deep in the early stages of wedding planning, they’d hit a wall on the menu front, because feeding 140 guests with a whole range of dietary needs turns out to be no small task. Or at least, it wasn’t until they found us.
They’d fallen completely in love with the idea of a hog roast anchoring their big day. The look, the atmosphere, the flavour – everything about it screamed showstopper, which is exactly what they wanted. Problem was, it didn’t quite work for everyone on the guest list, and with vegetarians and vegans to think about, they weren’t sure how to make it all come together.
Hog Roast Saint Erth put their minds at ease pretty quickly, promising a proper menu for every single guest, meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters alike. We kicked things off with drinks to settle everyone in, before inviting guests to the grazing table, one side loaded with quality Italian meats and cheeses, the other featuring chickpea falafels, chargrilled aubergine and courgettes, sun-blushed tomatoes, marinated olives and artichokes, hummus, peppers, mixed leaves and a proper selection of rustic breads.
Before anyone filled up too much on the nibbles, we served the hog roast alongside its meat-free counterpart, plus fresh salads and roasted new potatoes to keep every plate properly stacked.
The whole thing came together seamlessly, leaving Cate and Tom free to actually enjoy their wedding day, confident every guest was well looked after.
