Wedding planning is, without question, a big job. Most couples spend months – sometimes years – working through the details, making sure everything lines up exactly as they’d imagined, right down to whether the napkins complement the colour scheme. And somewhere near the top of that very long checklist sits catering.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering of 40 or a full-scale celebration with hundreds of guests – getting the food right isn’t optional. It’s one of those things people notice, talk about and remember long after the day is done. Which means finding a caterer who genuinely gets what you’re going for matters more than most couples realise until they’re deep in the process.
Hog Roast Newton Abbot is that caterer.
We don’t do one-size-fits-all. There are no menus handed over with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude, no corners cut to make things easier for us at the expense of what you actually want. Every booking starts with a conversation and builds from there – working closely with our catering manager until the menu is exactly right for your vision, your guests and your budget. Vegans, vegetarians, guests with allergies – all covered under one roof, with no need to bring in a second caterer and no extra stress added to an already full plate.
Our most recent wedding clients had 147 guests to feed and had been searching for exactly this kind of service. Hog Roast Newton Abbott spent months working with them to get everything just right, and on the day, the spread reflected every conversation we’d had along the way. A whole hog roast with all the trimmings sat at the centre, surrounded by tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, coleslaw and mixed sweet potato and classic fries. Marinated chicken thighs gave guests another direction to explore, while vegan-friendly grilled vegetable kebabs with optional
halloumi, tzatziki and flatbreads made sure every dietary need was met with something genuinely delicious.
Two handmade desserts rounded off the feast – light, indulgent and the kind of thing nobody can quite say no to even after a full plate.
The couple were absolutely thrilled. From the very first planning call to the final course, Hog Roast Newton Abbot made the whole experience feel manageable – and the day itself, properly enjoyable.
