On 11th September, Southmoor Vets hosted their annual summer party at Holsome Park Barn in Diptford. Over 100 guests were invited from the company, so the atmosphere was buzzing. We were so thrilled to be asked to be a part of this fun-filled day. Hog Roast Diptford served a huge feast for guests, led by catering manger, Rik. Our talented culinary team curated a menu of traditional favourites with special alternatives for dietary needs.
Our hog roast was the requested menu for the event. Guests were in awe of seeing the huge pig rotating on the spit. It was cooked to total perfection by our chefs and served with golden, crunchy crackling. And, we didn’t forget the popular accompaniments either. Think classic apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing – delicious right? Freshly baked bread rolls and wraps (with gluten-free options available) meant that guests could create their own hog roast sandwiches. Everyone helped themselves until they were fully satisfied. And, the best bit was that they could enjoy the spread at their own pace. In our opinion, it’s the perfect serving style for a laid-back evening.
Alongside the hog roast, Rik’s team served a selection of sides including tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw and herb-dressed new potatoes. Hog Roast Diptford also served vegan pulled jackfruit for the vegans and veggies.
With serving scheduled for 5:00pm, the party carried on well into the evening. As there was plenty to go around, we ensured that leftovers were aplenty. Everyone could tuck in when they got peckish. We were so pleased to have received positive comments from the hosts and guests. Hearing such great feedback really makes our job worthwhile.
