Seaside weddings are always a beautiful affair, but they’re even better when the weather is on your side. And for bride and groom, Alice and Elliott, luck was certainly on their side when they tied the knot last Saturday. The sun was shining, and the breeze was light, creating the perfect atmosphere for their intimate coastal ceremony.
The couple had planned for a small and peaceful wedding, with only their closest friends and relatives, taking the total number of guests to 30. After the nuptials, the newlyweds and their guests walked further down the beach, where Hog Roast Blagdon’s team was waiting to greet them with our delicious Alfresco Wedding Menu.
Our small team, headed by catering manager, Rik, had arrived at the wedding venue early to set up the hog roast and all the necessary equipment. We made sure to work with the wedding planner and all other vendors to ensure that everything was set up perfectly for Alice and Elliott’s big day.
This included setting up a marquee, which was filled with bohemian-style dining furniture, decorations and props the couple had sourced, and preparing a salivating feast of succulent slow-roasted pork with crackling, stuffing and applesauce, gluten-free rolls, refreshing salads, mixed fries and homemade gourmet coleslaw. Antipasti platters were also on the menu, so our team arranged cold-cut meats, cheeses, artisan breads, olives, sun dried tomatoes, dressings and fruits on bamboo wooden boards for each table.
Designed to be light and refreshing, this colourful menu was perfect for Alice and Elliott’s summer wedding by the sea, and everyone agreed that the food tasted simply divine.
The seaside location added to the magic of the day, with the sound of the waves and the salty sea air adding to the overall ambience. Alice and Elliott’s choice of venue was certainly a hit with their guests, who enjoyed soaking up the sun and taking in the stunning views while indulging in our handmade dessert options, which comprised tarte au citron and summer pudding.
Overall, Alice and Elliott’s seaside wedding was a truly special occasion. With perfect weather, delicious food (thanks to Hog Roast Blagdon!), and a breathtaking location, it was a day that will be remembered by all who attended.
