The celebration of a wedding is the best thing in all of catering. It is the event that every caterer strives for when they are first starting out. At Hog Roast Exeter we have been fortunate enough to be a part of likely thousands of wedding events over our near three decade run in this industry, and yet not a single wedding ever feels any less special or fun still.
That is because every wedding still manages to be entirely unique. It’s a new couple, a new celebration of love, and that is always going to lead to something unique and special. Last week our celebration was for Marc and Hannah at Froginwell Vineyard in Exeter. A wonderful venue, the vineyard offers a charming rustic backdrop to weddings with its redecorated barn and wonderful countryside views. Marc and Hannah chose the perfect spot for their wedding. The Hog Roast Exeter team had a wonderful time prepping and cooking our foods out in the sun right next to where the cider is made at the vineyard!
It’s spots like this that make our job that much easier. While guests arrived and the ceremony began, Rik and the Hog Roast Exeter team had a wonderful time prepping our antipasti boards for the guests to enjoy as soon as the reception began. Our heart shaped wooden boards helped to make it an even greater celebration of love with guests falling over themselves to get pictures of these beautifully arranged Italian platters. With deep reds from our fine Italian meats, lovely yellows and white from our fine Italian cheeses, a good bit of green from our dipping oils and fruits, and of course the added texture of our artisanal breads, it’s a simple yet great look for any wedding.
But the great dining didn’t stop there. Our hog roast main was to follow along with refreshing Thai salad, gourmet slaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, and roasted new potato accompaniments. As is increasingly popular these days too, our team ended with a late evening buffet service for the evening guests. Bacon rolls and the novel idea of a comforting mac and cheese station here were big winners with all the hungry and tired out evening guests!
