You Can Always Trust Hog Roast Bude To Ace The Food!

One of the most common questions we get asked by our customers is how many guests they need to invite before they can have a hog roast, and nearly all of them are shocked when they hear our answer. Are you ready?

*Drumroll Please*

There is no minimum number!

The idea that hog roasts are reserved for large gatherings, and large gatherings only, is a huge misconception – and one that Hog Roast Bude has been working very hard to squash. The truth is, whether you’re hosting 15 or 1,500 people, it makes no difference to us. You can enjoy the same delicious spit roast that you’ve been drooling over in your mind’s eye, the only difference being that we’ll use a smaller pig for more intimate events and a larger one when there are more guests, and we can even cook pieces of pork instead of the whole hog. It really is as simple as that.

Take Andrew’s event, for example. He had recently planned a 40th birthday party and had invited 17 guests to join in the celebrations. He had also hired Hog Roast Bude to handle the food and was pleased when our catering manager, Rik, came up with the perfect dining solution to suit his cosy party.

After the client selected our third menu option, Rik suggested switching the full-size pig for a suckling pig, which are often juicier and much more tender than their fully-reared counterparts. Andrew was really happy with this idea, and with side dishes, condiments, dips, and gluten-free rolls included to bulk up the menu, not forgetting a meat-free option for the plant-based folks, he was confident the guests would be pleased too.

Hog Roast BudeWhen the day of the party arrived, Hog Roast Bude travelled to the striking manor house that Andrew had rented specially for the occasion; Seven Springs House, which overlooks the Cotswold countryside. Once unpacked, our team quickly prepped the fresh ingredients with precision and care, resulting in a tantalising spread of juicy pork, savoury stuffing, applesauce and herb dressed new potatoes; plus, grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers for the non-meat-eaters.

We’re so happy to share that the food went down a storm with the guests, who were instantly taken by the depth of the flavours and the freshness of the food!
