Some of his places of work include 2aa rosette restaurants, 5* hotels, fine dining in the Caribbean and cruise ships. His delicious food and favours reflect on his travels and submerging himself into different cultures. Where has been your favourite venue so far?
Rik served at a private party in Southampton, it had amazing gardens and grounds that stretched out for miles making a picturesque background for a great party. The guy also had an amazing car collection making the venue that much more interesting for Rik!
Have you got a favourite event at all?
Rik had to travel to the Isle of Wight to serve a festive Christmas menu, it was at a great location overlooking the bay. There was a great atmosphere with the lead up to Christmas day with songs playing in the background and festive jumpers making an appearance!
If you were a customer, which Hog Roast Paignton menu would you choose?
Rik would choose the new alfresco menu, it’s full of flavourful food and uses environmentally friendly bamboo plates giving a nice rustic vibe. The antipasti boards are such a delightful appetiser with flavoursome meats and cheeses enjoyed with artisan breads and bite-size wonders. The main course involves the whole hog with all the trimmings, side salads and either roasted new potatoes or buttered new potatoes, simply delicious! The heavenly desserts are super indulgent, Rik would recommend the fresh and light Tarte au citron, a zesty lemon tart to tantalise your tastebuds or the divine and rich chocolate torte!
What has been your funniest moment on a job?
Rik’s funniest moment is when he turned into Mary Poppins and flew across the carpark holding onto the gazebo after taking the weights off while packing down.
