Hog Roast Lynton Had A Great Time Catering For A Unique Wedding Reception!

It probably won’t surprise you too much to hear that weddings are one of the most common events that we find ourselves catering for here at Hog Roast Lynton, but we never grow tired of seeing couples tie the knot! Because no two weddings are even remotely similar (yes, really!), each event feels completely new and different to us, which ensures things always feel interesting and exciting.

Take Rose and Sean’s wedding, for example. The happy couple had come to us well in advance of their big day to discuss catering options for their 100 guests. As always, our catering manager, Rik, was all too happy to assist them with their booking, and with his help, it wasn’t long before the pair decided that our Catering Menu 1 would best suit their needs.

Unlike a typical wedding, however, the couple had chosen the iconic Weston Museum as their reception venue. Built in 1861, this historical landmark location on Burlington Street, which carries a vast exhibition of awe-worthy collections and artefacts from the past centuries is a pretty spectacular place to celebrate any event, and it couldn’t have been more perfect for Rose and Sean’s big day!

Hog Roast Lynton We were so excited to be included in this celebration. However, due to the venue’s strict policy regarding open flames, we were unable to cook on-site. So, instead, Rik and the rest of the Hog Roast Lynton team parked our catering van miles away from the museum and used an open courtyard to prepare the traditional hog roast, which was accompanied by our homemade stuffing, crackling and applesauce trio. They also made sure to cook up a large batch of grilled vegetarian skewers and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls for the non-meat-eaters.

Once the food was ready, the team quickly transported it to the venue, where it was presented to the newlyweds and their guests in the main function hall. Rose, Sean and their family and friends all had great things to say about the food Hog Roast Lynton served on the day, and many of them helped themselves to extra portions as the night went on.
