Hog Roast Churston Ferrers’ catering manager Rik met up with the charming Ray and his delightful bride-to-be last week in Torquay. Torquay is a beautiful location basking on the world-famous English Riviera surrounded by stunning beaches and picturesque countryside, the ideal location for a wedding with a view! Rik met the friendly couple at their venue, St Mary Magdalene Church Hall that is situated right in the heart of Torquay town. The ceremony will be held in the St Mary Magdalene Church next-door, an admirable building registered as a grade II building due to its special architectural and historical interest.
The meeting was a success for both parties. Rik now knows the access at the venue, where he needs to set up and where he can get power and water from. Hog Roast Churston Ferrers always ensures that they through their responsibilities on the day with the couple so that everyone is happy and mostly for the peace of mind for the couple. They discussed everything in detail about the run of the day and what would be happening so that it would run like clockwork.
Ray and his partner have chosen a bespoke menu, where they have mirrored one of Hog Roast Churston Ferrers’ wedding menu’s but added and changed certain parts. Rik therefore wanted to ensure that they were happy with their options. The newlyweds to be are extremely excited about the spitted whole roasted lamb infused with rosemary and garlic as well as their whole roasted pig guaranteed to have the crispiest crackling! They were extremely happy that they could add on Mac and cheese as this is a classic go-to favourite of the couple.
The menu had a tea and coffee buffet station on it so Rik made sure to ask what type of tea and coffee they would like for example, English Breakfast tea. He knows exactly where to set this up so that the guests can have easy access to it, particularly the elderly guests.
As Rik will be cutting the cake, this was discussed so that Rik knows to keep the top tier for the bride and groom on the day and what flavours the layers are so that he can inform the guests on the day.
Rik wishes the couple the best of luck on the run up to the big day and hope they get everything sorted. He is looking forward to being part of it all and catering at this new venue.
