The sun coming out (and staying out) on your wedding day is one of those perfect things that really helps to make your special that little bit more so. As a wedding caterer for well over 20+ years, we at Hog Roast Shiphay know more than most just how simple something like a sunny day can be for vastly improving the wedding experience for everyone.
Fortunately, with a wedding our Hog Roast Shiphay team were out at this past weekend, that proved to be the case once again as the spring summer came out to greet the wonderful wedding of Mr and Mrs Harpe of Shiphay. Our Hog Roast Shiphay chefs and serving team were in attendance for the incredible reception and dinner held out of a local hotels dining hall and grounds.
The venue was described to our Hog Roast Shiphay team as a “rustic” barn with excellent grounds overlooking wonderful greenery and hills. The venue itself had been converted from old farm buildings into a beautiful venue that mostly specialises in wedding ceremonies and parties. Wedding parties can host their ceremony out on the lush grounds when the weather allows, and afterwards everyone can head into the barns for the reception, the design of the barns themselves allowing for a reception to be a quasi-indoor and outdoor event. With the sun making its appearance this weekend, for our Hog Roast Shiphay team that was luckily mostly outdoors!
Matching the rustic venue and the brilliant grounds, our chefs put together a selection of woodboard platters and grazing tables to immediately follow after the ceremony. This way, guests were able to walk right into the reception and be met with plenty of delicious colour right away. Our team then circulated the outdoor grounds with canape platters, before we then all sat down for the main hog roast dinner. Everyone mopped up their plates with ease, and a special mention from the groom even went to our Hog Roast Shiphay chef for making their special night even better than they could have ever hoped for.
