Welcoming a new member to the family is always an exhilarating experience for everyone involved. So when Eve and her partner, Cameron, discovered they were going to be parents for the first time ever, they could barely contain their excitement. And after announcing the news to their family and friends, they got straight to work on planning for all of the thrilling celebrations that come with pregnancy these days.
First up was, of course, the increasingly popular gender reveal party, to which the happy couple had invited 20-something of their nearest and dearest to observe with them. Before the celebrations could go ahead, however, Eve and Cameron had (what they assumed would be) the tough task of organising food for the special occasion, for which they had a strict budget in mind. But fortunately for them, they discovered Hog Roast Babbacombe, a.k.a. Torbay’s best-rated hog roast provider, just in time!
In recent years, Hog Roast Babbacombe has handled a growing number of these pre-birth events, so when the pair got in touch to ask if we could cover the food for their small get-together, our catering manager, Rik, was ready and willing to help. And, after talking them through the main options we have on offer, he was able to impress Eve and Cameron with our vast portfolio of inexpensive group dining solutions.
Pleasantly surprised by how affordable our services are, the couple soon decided on our Alfresco Menu, which features a spit-roasted pig with all the trimmings, a selection of potato and salad sides, a choice of two desserts (profiteroles and chocolate torte on this occasion) and an antipasti platter of deli meats and Italian cheeses to start off with.
Rik had spent all morning preparing the rich spread for the couple so that when the guests arrived, they were immediately greeted with irresistible aromas of the gorgeous food. After that, it didn’t take long for Hog Roast Babbacombe to serve each of the guests with a plateful of mouth-watering grub, and after everyone was seated, the couple popped a large balloon, which released blue confetti into the air.
