Ending May on a high note, Hog Roast Paignton returned to one of our favourite ever venues, Paignton Sailing Club, where we proudly helped 150 guests celebrate the return of the annual RS Aeros UK National Championships!
The high profile event, which brought boating enthusiasts together from near and far, lasted from the 28th to the 31st of the month, with each day featuring incredible displays of determination and speed from the competitors, who battled it out amidst tricky weather conditions in the hopes of going home triumphant.
Hog Roast Paignton’s caterers were fortunate enough to be able to attend the second day of this exhilarating competition after being hired by the club’s secretary, Vanessa, to cook up an incredible Classic Hog Roast buffet for all those involved.
This epic feast of tantalising pulled pork, lightly salted crackling and crispy on the outside sage and onion stuffing were generously piled onto gluten-free rolls and served to the ravenous guests at 7 pm that evening, rounding off a long but thrilling afternoon of water sports. Unlike the previous day, the rain stayed clear of the event, and although the clouds remained grey, the group were in great spirits – especially after Rik unveiled the mouth-watering feast!
The hog roast rolls were a big hit among the meat-loving attendees. Meanwhile, our veggie and vegan guests were thrilled with the BBQ pulled jackfruit option, which saw the ‘meaty’ fruit steeped in a gorgeous hickory sauce for several hours before being served on crunchy cobs with an entirely plan-based coleslaw dressing to finish. Our regular gourmet coleslaw was also on the menu for guests to indulge in, along with seasonal green leaf salad, topped off with juicy cherry tomatoes.
Once again, the Hog Roast Paignton team blew it out of the water with their unmatched catering abilities and phenomenal customer service skills, which made the event a memorable experience for everyone involved. Our flavourful food was a highlight of the day for many of those who attended the RS Aeros UK National Championships, and the staff at Paignton Sailing Club were delighted, as they always are, with Rik’s performance!
