People ask us the same handful of questions all the time, so we thought we’d put together a simple FAQ to give you a clearer picture of what we do here at Hog Roast Torquay. Nothing fancy – just straight answers and a bit of behind-the-scenes insight.

Let’s tuck in…
- Q) What Are Your Specialties?
You’ve probably put two and two together from our name, but yes – we love a good hog roast. There’s something timeless about the whole process – slow roasting, that warm smoky aroma drifting through the air, people gathering around to see how it’s coming along. It doesn’t matter if it’s a birthday, a wedding or a random Sunday afternoon – hog roasts seem to get everyone chatting like they’ve known each other for years.
At Hog Roast Torquay, we use modern roasting gear that gives the meat an even cook all the way through, so you get that juicy middle and the crackling everyone fights over. And we don’t just plonk it on a plate; we pair it with proper sides that round out the whole meal.
That said, if pork isn’t your thing, no worries at all. We do chicken, beef, lamb and a solid range of plant-based options. We also take a lot of inspiration from different parts of the world – Asian delights, European classics, Southern-style comfort dishes – so you’ve got plenty to choose from.
- Q) Where Do You Source Your Ingredients?

Hog Roast Torquay is pretty picky about what goes into our food – and we’re proud of that. Everything we use is hand-picked from local farms and suppliers we’ve worked with for years. Keeping things local means we actually know where our meat and produce are coming from – and that shines through in the flavour. On the day of your event, we cook everything fresh on-site, so nothing tastes bland or reheated.
- Q) Are There Any Hidden Costs?
Short answer: no. Longer answer: absolutely not. Some companies add little extras at the end – VAT, service charges, odd “admin fees” – but we don’t do that. We tell you the full price upfront so you know exactly what you’re paying for. Simple, transparent, and far less stressful for everyone involved.
